The person that wrote this diary lived in Enid Oklahoma. I believe his name was Jack. It was written in 1944 and 1945. Both years 44 and 45 have a gap from May 11th thru September 19th that the writer makes no entries. The pages are there but nothing is written. I believe this to be summer vacation from school. The young man is a Presbyterian, he and his family attend Church and Sunday school on a regular basis. He is also in the Eagle Scouts in 1944. He has a dog named Tippy and calls his grandmother Mamo. He works in the local drug store. He was born January 5th of what year I am not sure but in 1944 he had what he called a Hobo Birthday Party, all the boys were there and Mother served apples and popcorn. All the boys had a swell time and went to the show after supper. On January 6th he bought tickets for Emmerson play and says he has a cold in his snoote. He also goes to something called Commandos meeting. Where they live is a hamburger stand called Dan & Bakes. He plays and they watch a lot of Basketball. His father does not live with them. All of this was taken only from the first 15 days from January 1 to January 15 1944. He really did a nice job detailing his life this way and you get a feel for who he was. You really get a look at how close to each other and involved these people were.
