From 1898 to 1962 the Hetch Hetchy & Yosemite Valley Railroad was owned by the West Side Flume and Lumber Company operated in the canyons in and around the North Fork of the Tuolumne River. In 1970 an attempt was made to open up a tourist railroad by a man named Glenn Bell. It was called the West Side and Cherry Valley Railroad. This short 16mm film is a story done by Kent Pierce reporting for KCRA TV at the time. There is not much of the train but I thought it was interesting none the less because of the effort these guys made in laying the track. It's some very hard work.
